March 6, 2010 - Kell JV 4, McEachern JV 0 - Behind an outstanding pitching performance from  James Flanagan, the Longhorns defeated the McEachern JV 4-0. Flanagan's complete game gem included 8 strikeouts and he allowed only 1 hit and 4 base runners.  He carried a no hitter into the 6th inning and was backed by solid defensive support from Alec Stockton with 4 assists.  Offensively, Kell struck early in the first inning and bolted to a 3-0 lead with hits from Stockton, Kyle Korzonowski, and Grant Morgan Clayton Turner added a single and a walk.  The junior Longhorns will play Wheeler on Thursday March 11th. 

March 5, 2010 - Wheeler JV 8,  Kell JV 6 - Despite solid pitching from Avery McReynolds, Kell falls to Wheeler 8-6. Bright spots for the Longhorns offensively were from Alec Stockton (1b, 2b, 2bi, 2r, sb) Clay Turner (3b, bb) Steven Summey (1b, 1bi) Brice O'Brien (3b, r) Benjie Grifenhagen (1b) and Bradley Helper (1b).  Defensively, the Longhorns got solid play from Stockton, Summey and Grifenhagen.  Johnathan Whitmore and Chris Himmelberg also pitched for Kell.  The JV Longhorns will play McEachern on Saturday.   

February 27, 2010 - Allatoona JV 7 Kell JV 6 - The Kell JV team opened up its season with a tight 7-6 loss to the Allatoona JV.  The Longhorns got solid pitching performances from Benjie Grifenhagen, and James Flanagan, but could not overcome several defensive lapses.  Grifenhagen and Flanagan impressively combined for 11 strikeouts, with 7 and 4 respectively.  The Longhorns were leading 4-2 but defensive miscues cost them in the bottom of the 4th.  Offensively, the Longhorns were led by Clayton Turner, who had 2 hits including a home run and Grifenhagen who spanked 2 doubles.  Clay Dodson also had a hit for Kell.  The JV Longhorns travel to Wheeler for their next game on Thursday, March 4  Pitching -  Grifenhagen 3.1IP, Flanagan 2.2IP  

 

April 17 - Kell's JV jumped on Walton early sending 14 men to the plate in a big first inning, scoring 9 runs, and setting up a 16-1 victory.  Jake Jensen had 2 hits, a walk and scored 3 runs.  Kyle Korzonowski had a hit, 2 walks and scored 2 runs. Benjie Grifenhagen had a bases clearing 3 run double, walked twice and scored 3 runs, and Parker Madden had an RBI triple and scored a run.  Grifenhagen also pitched effectively, and had the luxury of solid run support. 

March 23 - Kell JV stumble in loss to Walton 12-2.  Bright spots in the lopsided game were hits by Jacob Brabon, Kevin Tramble, Jake Jensen, and Robert Daly.  On the mound, Steven Summey and James Flanagan had some good moments. 

March 20 - Kell's JV lose to Alpharetta, as the Raiders scored most of their runs late.  Chris Goerschel pitched 6 plus innings of solid baseball for Kell striking out 6 batters, but tired in the seventh.  The Longhorns managed 9 hits led by Kevin Tramble's 2 doubles.  Jordan Dwyer and Jake Jensen also had a pair of hits.  Batting - Jensen 2 1B, Daly HBP, Tramble 2 2B, Brabon 1B, Dwyer 2 1B, Summey BB, Gowder 1B, Korzonowski 1B,  Pitching  Goerschel LP 6.0 IP 6K, Daly 1 IP   

March 18 - Kell JV start slowly and trail Roswell early, but Kevin Tramble settles down on the mound and Benje Grifenhagen twirls 3 shutout innings allowing Kell's bats to come alive for an 11-2 Kell victory.  Jacob Brabon, Kevin Tramble, Chris Goerschel, Kyle Korzonowski, and Clayton Turner had hits leading the Kell team.  James Flanagan finished the last inning on the hill for Kell. 

March 14 - Good hitting and good pitching makes for a solid combination as Kell pounds Sprayberry 7-2.  Starting pitcher Jacob Brabon worked 5 effective innings and Jake Jensen closed the deal with 2 innings of work.  They allowed only 3 hits and struck out 5 Jacket batters.  The Longhorn bats were busy also as they lashed out 10 hits highlighted by Kevin Tramble's home run in the 5th inning.  Jensen, Robert Daly, Jordan Dwyer, and Brabon each had 2 hits to lead the attack.  Batting - Jensen 2H, Daly 2H, Tramble HR, Brabon 2H, Michalek 2BB, Goerschel 2BB, Dwyer 1B 2B, Proshek 1H Pitching Brabon WP 5IP, Jensen 2IP

March 10 - Chris Goerschel slammed a Home Run and Robert Daly pitched well to lead the Kell JV team to a 4-2 victory against Marietta.  Ryan Moran doubled and Jake Jensen had an rbi single to also support to Kell charge.   

March 7 - Kell JV take first loss in close 5-3 game vs. Kennesaw Mtn.  Playing the back end of an 'away and home' doubleheader, Kell started strong but ran out of gas as K. Mtn came back for a 5-3 win.  Kell scored all of its runs in the second inning as Robert Daly, Ben Grifenhagen and Adam Seewoester came around on RBI from Kyle Korzonowski and Jake Jensen.  Jacob Brabon pitched 4 innings of shutout ball

March 7 - Kell JV hammer McEachern Indians 14-8.  Kyle Proshek went 3 for 3 with a double and Ryan Moran ripped a triple as they led an 8 hit attack for Kell. Robert Daly started and notched the win with Nick Corley effective in relief.  Batting Proshek 3H 2B 3BI 2R, Moran 3B R, Gowder H, Korzonowski H, Jensen H, Selcer H,  Pitching WP Daly 1-0,

March 5 - The Kell JV team played its season and home opener against crosstown rival Walton. In a low scoring affair, the Kell JV eke out a 2-1 victory. Ryan Moran singled home Jacob Brabon with the game winning hit in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kell got solid pitching from Chris Goerschel into the fifth inning as he allowed only one run, and was supported by a great defensive play from SS Jake Jensen. Parker Madden pitched shutout ball the rest of the way and picked up the win. Moran 3H 2B 1BI, Brabon 2R, Madden WP 1-0
